CCProxy 7.2 Portable — Quick Overview and Guide
CCProxy 7.2 Portable is a lightweight, Windows-based proxy server package that lets users share one internet connection among multiple devices and control access without full installation. The portable build is aimed at admins and tech-savvy users who want a no-install, on-the-go proxy solution for testing, temporary setups, classrooms, small offices, or troubleshooting.
By default, CCProxy may be set to "Permit All." For better security, change this to "Permit Only" and add specific client IP addresses or MAC addresses. Client Configuration On the client computer, go to Network/Proxy Settings CCProxy 7.2 Portable
- No Service Mode – Unlike the installed version, the portable edition runs only when the executable is open. Logging off or closing the window stops the proxy.
- Firewall Pop-ups – Windows may prompt you to allow CCProxy through the firewall. Without admin rights, this can fail, rendering the proxy useless.
- Performance Ceiling – Version 7.2 is not optimized for high concurrency. For 50+ users or high-bandwidth applications, expect slowdowns.
- Outdated Core – As of this writing, version 7.2 is several years old. Newer versions (e.g., 8.x) offer improved stability, SSL interception, and IPv6 support—but are not officially portable.
- No HTTPS Decryption – While it forwards HTTPS traffic, it cannot inspect or filter encrypted content without installing a root certificate (difficult in portable mode).
- CVE-2018-19458: Buffer overflow in the administration web interface.
- HTTP smuggling vulnerabilities: Attackers can bypass proxy restrictions.
Voila! The client machine is now surfing the web through the host connection. CCProxy 7
