Introduction

6. Initial Setup / Test Operation

• Power on and verify communication.
• Check display and button response.

• Temperature range limits
• Clock (24h/12h)
• Filter sign interval
• Fahrenheit/Celsius (default: °C for BRC1C51, °C/°F selectable for BRC1C61)

1. Route the 2-core cable from the indoor unit to the controller location. Connect to the indoor unit's terminal block (usually terminals 1 and 2).
2. Pass the cable through the hole in the installation plate.
3. Strip approximately 5/16 inch (8-10mm) of insulation from the wire ends.
4. Loosen the terminal screws on the back of the controller unit (Terminals 1 and 2).
5. Insert the wires into the terminals. It does not matter which wire goes to Terminal 1 or 2, as the connection is non-polarized.
   • Set the temperature range and units (Fahrenheit or Celsius).
   • Choose the HVAC system type (heating, cooling, or heat pump).
   • Configure any additional features (e.g., timer, schedule).
