If you want to keep your current firmware but add this feature, you can extract your current parameter file using RKAndroidTool, edit the text file, find the line defining the system partition, and ensure it does not contain the - flag which sometimes forces read-only states, or modify the fstab.rk30board inside the ramdisk to mount /system as rw instead of ro by default.
