Kess 2.90 |work|

KESS 2.90 is the latest firmware and software update for the widely used KESS V2 ECU programmer. It is a popular tool among automotive enthusiasts and professional tuners for reading and writing Engine Control Units (ECUs) and Transmission Control Units (TCUs) via the OBDII port. Key Features and Improvements

  1. Connect GND, VCC, Boot Pin (usually pin 20 or 23).
  2. Connect Kess probes to the JTAG (D0, D1, CLK, RST).
  3. Set Kess 2.90 to "Boot" mode.
  4. Power the ECU.
  5. Short the boot pin to GND during power-on to force the CPU into serial bootloader mode.
  6. Release the pin. The Kess will now read/write at the silicon level.

: Addresses common "Grayed out" buttons and checksum errors found in older software builds. Kess 2.90

The Ideal Setup:

  • Laptop: Windows 7 Professional (32-bit or 64-bit) is the most stable. Windows 10 often works but may require driver signature disabling. Avoid Windows 11.
  • Processor: Intel Core i3 or higher (AMD processors sometimes cause USB latency issues).
  • Cable: A high-quality USB 2.0 cable. Do not use USB 3.0 hubs.
  • Power Supply: For bench mode, you need a stable 13.8V power supply capable of 10-15 Amps.
