2. Literature Review
- Informal Workspaces and Collaboration (Elsbach & Pratt, 2007) – how physical settings shape spontaneous interaction.
- Perceived Organizational Support Theory (Eisenberger et al., 1986) – amenities as tangible signs of care.
- Employee Lounge vs. Break Room – distinction between functional (coffee, microwave) and aspirational (relaxation, social bonding) spaces.
- Gaps: Few studies focus on single-firm lounges as case studies; most generalize across industries.
- Please clean up after yourself and dispose of trash properly.
- Respect your colleagues and keep noise levels to a minimum.
- The lounge is a non-smoking area.
- Complimentary Refreshments: Enjoy a selection of snacks and beverages, including coffee, tea, and healthy snacks, to keep you energized throughout the day.
- Comfortable Seating: Our lounge features ergonomic chairs and sofas, perfect for taking a break and catching up on some reading or simply relaxing.
- TV and Entertainment: Stay up-to-date with the latest news and sports on our flat-screen TV, or listen to your favorite music on our sound system.
- Quiet Areas: Need some peace and quiet? Our lounge has designated quiet areas where you can focus on your work or simply meditate.
Collaborative Zones: Open seating arrangements and high-top tables facilitate informal meetings, brainstorming sessions, or casual "coffee chats" between departments.
