Macrium Reflect Iso Bootable Top

Create a Macrium Reflect bootable ISO — quick guide

What you need

  • Windows PC with Macrium Reflect (Free or paid) installed.
  • USB drive (8+ GB) or blank ISO target.
  • Administrative rights.
  • Burned to a DVD
  • Written to a USB using Rufus (if the ISO doesn’t directly write to USB)
  • Used in virtualization (VMware, VirtualBox)

To create the ISO, you must have the Macrium Reflect application installed on a functional PC.

To create a Macrium Reflect bootable ISO use the built-in Rescue Media Builder

5. Version Parity

Your rescue media must match the version of Macrium Reflect you used to create the backup. Restoring a Reflect X backup with Reflect 7 rescue media is impossible.

  1. Click "Browse for an image file" (Usually located on an external USB drive, network share, or second internal drive).
  2. Select the most recent .mrimg file.
  3. Click "Restore Image."
  4. Select the target disk. (Critical: If restoring to a smaller SSD, ensure you use the "Shrink/Fit to target" option under "Copy partitions.")
  5. Click "Restore." The software does the rest.
