The S7-200 Smart password unlock dilemma almost always concerns Level 2 or Level 3. Crucially, the password is stored in a protected area of the CPU’s EEPROM. Unlike older S7-200 (non-SMART) models, brute-force physical attacks are significantly harder due to modern encryption.
