4. Ring Drain Mechanics: The Debate

The original S3&K Hyper Sonic drained rings slowly (1 per second). Many mods replicate this, but the Mania engine allows for variants. The most popular "Arcade" version of the mod removes the ring drain entirely but prevents rings from spawning while you are transformed to balance the difficulty.

• Boss Fights: Most bosses die in one Flash. The exception is the final boss (Egg Reverie Zone), which has custom scripting that sometimes crashes the game if Hyper Sonic touches the hitbox too fast.
