If your TV is a Smart model connected to the internet, you can check for updates directly through the menu:  Press the Menu or Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings -> Support (or About). Important: Do not turn off the power or remove the USB drive while the update is in progress, as this can permanently damage your TV.

1. Warranty: Updating via official OTA (Internet) does not void warranty. Using the USB Burning Tool (USB Burning Tool method) can trigger a warranty void if the device is sent for repair later, as it logs the flash count.
2. Power Stability: If your power flickers during an update, you will "brick" the TV (render it unusable). If you live in an area with unstable power, use a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) when updating.
3. Region Lock: Do not flash firmware intended for the Russian market on a TV bought in a different region (and vice versa) if the tuner chips differ. You might lose channel reception for your country.
