- Disconnect the battery negative terminal (wait 5 minutes for ECU caps to discharge).
- Unlock the gray lever on the ECU connector. Slide the purple or white locking retainer outward.
- Use a back-probe pin (available on Amazon: "ECU back probe kit") – a thin, flexible needle.
- Slide the probe into the wire side of the connector cavity until you feel metal.
- Reconnect battery and test. Never force a multimeter probe into the connector face (sealed side) – it will stretch the terminal.
