Pokémon LeafGreen Version 1.0 is a classic Game Boy game that was first released in 1999 in Japan and later in 2000 for North America and Europe. It is one of the first pair of games in the second generation of Pokémon, the other being Pokémon FireRed. These games were developed by Game Freak and published by The Pokémon Company.

Along the way, you'll encounter the nefarious Team Rocket, who are trying to steal rare and valuable Pokémon. You'll have to thwart their plans and ultimately face the Pokémon League Champion.

  • The Hall of Fame Crash: On original hardware, V1.0 had a rare crash when entering the Hall of Fame with a full PC box. On emulators, this is usually mitigated, but save often before the Elite Four.
  • Trade Evolution Failure: When trading between a V1.0 ROM and a V1.1 ROM (or a genuine FireRed V1.0), you may experience a "Trainer ID mismatch" visual glitch. The trade works, but the name displays incorrectly.
  • Real-Time Clock (RTC) Issues: V1.0 expects the GBA’s physical RTC. On many emulators, the RTC defaults to the wrong year, causing the game to think 2026 is "Year 0," which breaks berry growth. Ensure your emulator is synced to your system clock.
